In the UK the average shoe size for men is size 9 to 10, so not a big difference there. But this can make it tricky finding your size in stock.

But not to worry! Mr.Shoes understand and is here to help you.
When you find a shoe you like and if we’re currently out of stock in branch, we will do our best to find it for you at one of our other branches!

We can then order it in for you with a small deposit, or mail it to your home address when you pay in full! Easy.
But sizes aren’t something to be taken for granted. As I’ve discussed in my women’s sizes blog, both foot size and manufacturers vary.

For most people, one foot is slightly bigger than the other! And depending on the make, you may go up or down an entire size.
Espadrilles are known for needing to go up a size (but once you’re up there it’s perfect!)

Where as sandals, since they don’t restrict the foot as much as regular shoes, you could well go down a size.

Material also makes a difference, cloth and leather footwear give with wear.

So if an 8 is snug and a 9 is baggy, it’s worth taking the 8 home and either stretching it with normal wear or if it’s really snug, you can have them professionally stretched.
When it comes down to it you want to be comfortable and if that means trying on three pairs of shoes over one, go for it!

Don’t forget your feet swell in the afternoon!
And never be afraid to ask.
